Overview
PPB-OTR-UVC is an autonomous field robotic platform designed for precision UV-based disease management in specialty crops. The robot integrates a UV treatment system with dual-GPS-based autonomous navigation, enabling accurate and repeatable operation in vineyard and other specialty-crop environments. By following a predefined prescription map (which can be generated by PPBv2 or PPB-NG), PPB-OTR-UVC automatically activates and deactivates its UV lamps at designated treatment locations, allowing UV treatment to be selectively applied only where disease management is needed.
The platform supports variable and dynamic travel speed control to balance treatment efficacy and operational efficiency. Within designated treatment zones, PPB-OTR-UVC automatically reduces its travel speed to ensure that the target UV dose is delivered to the crop canopy. The treatment speed can be determined according to the required UV dose and the configuration and output characteristics of the UV lamp system. After leaving a treatment zone, the robot automatically returns to a higher travel speed, reducing unnecessary operation time in non-treatment areas and improving overall field efficiency.
Through the integration of autonomous navigation, prescription-map-based treatment control, and adaptive speed management, PPB-OTR-UVC provides a scalable platform for site-specific and automated disease management, reducing unnecessary UV exposure while maintaining the required treatment dose in targeted areas.
